Why we should all get a dog!

In the Te Kinga class we were doing persuasive writing. In the beginning I didn't know what to write about. Then I had an idea, I should write about why we should all get a dog. Then I wrote the speech and it was very challenging.

Today I made a screen cast using my chromebook, microphone and a webcam and I learnt how to do it because I had never done it before.

OUR MULTI MODAL READING!

In our class we've been doing multi modal reading. When we do multi modal reading we get a sheet and there is videos on a slide, we then have to watch the videos and then fill out the sheet. We also have to read on epic to do the sheet as well. Our class has been doing it for a term now and it has been really fun. We have to do inspired writing about it. This is what it looks like when we're doing it and this week we have been learning about toilets.

OUR DEBATES!

In our class we've been doing debates. The topic for the debate was that rule should be broken. It's was very fun. There was three people in each team and they all had reasons why they should win. I was on the team that thought rules should be broken. When we weren't up at the tables we had to vote whoever you thought won and whoever got the most votes they won. I was in a group with Elsie, Cameron and me. This is my reasons why I think rules should be broken.

MY HIGHEST COMMON FACTORS MATHS LEARNING!

In lock down I've done some highest common factors maths. It was very challenging because it was very hard to remember everything that I had to do. Next time I don't want to forget how to do it. I enjoyed doing the learning. I had to count  the number and I had to find the highest common factor and it was hard because the numbers I had to count to were very big. It took a lot of time and I had to have a bit of paper because if I didn't it would be hard to remember the number I was on. It was year seven maths so it was harder than I was used to. I did it on maths buddy and it helped me a lot with the highest common factors.

OUR ADVENTURE IN THE BUSH!

In the weekend me and my family went on a bush walk. We went on the arnold dam walk. I really enjoyed it because I love the nature. My next steps are to know when the bird makes a noise I know what bird it is. What I found challenging was slipping a lot. I wondered what it would look like when I came back to the bush walk? When we were walking we saw the ginormous dam and it was so awesome! It was very muddy and we got our shoes wet and muddy! Next time I might look a bit closer at the cool ferns and leaves and trees and the try and not get muddy shoes next time. I really loved doing that walk with my family and it made me want to do more walks. Here are some photos of the stuff that we found on the walk.

MY LONG MULTIPLICATION LEARNING!

In lock down I've been doing lots of maths on maths buddy. Maths buddy teaches me how to do long multiplication and more fun maths. I've been getting better every single day and I've been practising. First I learnt the method of how to do it and wrote it on a piece of paper. Then Mum gave me questions and everyday I got better.  I found it a bit challenging because I kept forgetting to put the 0 down and to carry the numbers. My next step is to get them very quickly. The way I work it out is to times 2 numbers together and if you have 10 or over you have to carry the number. Then you move to the next number and times those together and then after that you will have two numbers and then you add them together and you have your answer. Here is a photo of my hard long multiplication.
